WebMar 26, 2024 · This Philco 42-1010 Beam of Light came out beautifully! The photocells on these old units are almost always not functioning when they come in for repair. The new housing replacements are a different style and not a direct replacement. We decided to fix that by designing our own replacement, patterned after the original. Weball of the 1942 Philco phono consoles used the "Beam of Light" cartridge. There is a black transformer about 2 inches square and 3 inches high inside the console with 4 pins and an RCA phono jack (part number A32-8196P stenciled on the side).
