WebThe Crown Hill neighborhood, situated in northern Ballard, was annexed to Seattle in 1954, along with the rest of the lands north of 85 th Street up to 145 th Street. Crown Hill has a rich and interesting history of settlement. Originally forested, it underwent a number of transformations to become the community it is today. WebIn 2016, the park was give the name “Gemenskap” pronounced Yuh-MEN-skawp), which is the Swedish word for community. This park is still in the design phase with plans to break ground by 2024. Groundswell NW has partnered with the East Ballard Community Association since 2005 through mentorship and fiscal sponsorship.
