Using the larger (coarse) vermiculite, will allow more air exchange, which will increase your contamination risk. Interesting, never heard that before. From what I understand having coarse verm when you dunk and roll will create better mocro-humidity close to the surface and provide better pins.

WebMar 13, 2010 · Once a veil breaks, pick it. Once all from the first flush grow out, then you do another dunk and roll. Do a 12 hr dunk and yes, roll them again. You can dunk it for 24 hrs too, it doesn't really matter. I would actually suggest 24 hrs. And you can touch the cakes, washed or unwashed hands, but washings always good.
